Care, cleaning and conservation

We basically work with natural materials. They all have their specific characteristics and a certain resistance and durability, but because they are natural, they may present small variations in tones and marks that are not considered defects and generally do not interfere with their resistance and durability. Here you will find some precautions to take so that your pieces last a long time. First check your product and, based on the materials used in it, follow the ideal cleaning, care and conservation instructions for your piece.

LEATHER PRODUCTS

- Do not leave your pieces exposed to water and/or sun. The sun contributes to the drying and fading of leather, reducing its quality and resistance;

- Be careful, light-colored items can stain when in contact with colored fabrics such as jeans;

- While you are not using it, place your item in a cotton bag and store it in a clean, dry and ventilated environment, away from light and humidity;

- If you are going to store them in the closet, place them in a row and never on top of each other, in order to maintain their original format;

- You can fill your bag with crumpled parchment paper, but be careful! Do not use magazines or newspapers as the ink may transfer to your bag.

- We recommend that you moisturize your item once or twice a year with a specific moisturizer for leather;

- If you want to use a product for conservation, but are not sure if it will damage your piece, test it first on a piece of leather that does not appear. We place a small sample of the leather used on all pieces. You can use this sample to test;

- Be careful when placing pens and cosmetics directly in contact with your leather item. These products can open and cause permanent damage;

- Scissors, needles and sharp and pointed objects can cause irreparable damage. Keep them safe;

- Clean with a clean, dry cloth (preferably a dry, white flannel). If you want and need to, only use a product designed for cleaning leather and follow the manufacturer's instructions;

- If your piece has a varnished finish and needs to be cleaned, use a slightly damp white cotton flannel;

- For suede or nubuck items, only use a brush with rubber or nylon bristles for cleaning;

- Never wash with water, soap and/or any other product, no matter how much you want to do so;

- When cleaning your piece, be careful not to wet it or rub it excessively. She is not a rag, but your companion and needs to be treated with care;

- Never wash your item in the sink or washing machine. It may be destroyed if you do so;

- When trying to clean, do not use powder soap, coconut soap, alcohol, polish, oil, solvent, detergent, petroleum jelly, silicones, bleach, multi-cleaners, varnish, water with ammonia, or any other chemical product that could damage the leather;

- If your item gets wet by accident, clean it immediately with a clean, dry cloth or absorbent paper to prevent the liquid from penetrating the skin pores and causing permanent stains. Let it dry in the shade, in a ventilated place and at room temperature. Never place in the microwave, behind the refrigerator, near the oven, in the dryer or other equipment. Do not expose the item to the sun.

Now, if your item is very dirty and the soft brush or white flannel isn't working, take it to a professional laundry service and hope they can fix it.

- We recommend that you send your pieces for cleaning to a trusted professional because they will be able to assess the best technique to use when cleaning the metal used, crystals and stones or gems that your piece may contain.

PRODUCTS WITH STONES, GEMS AND CRYSTALS

Not every stone or crystal can be cleaned in the same way. Each stone has its own chemical composition and needs specific care. Some people like to clean and energize their stones and crystals, but it is important to remember that the chemical composition of your stone affects the way this cleaning should be done. Some cleaning methods can make your stone dull, lose its shine, or even fall apart.

Constantly washing with water and salt may be easier, but it can fade your stone or crystal and therefore we do not recommend that this method be used without prior knowledge of both the stone and its energization. If in doubt, look for a professional you trust.

Remember that most of the time stones and crystals originate underground, where it is cool and the sun's rays do not reach them, and when we bring them to the surface they continue to exchange with the environment in which they are located.

Avoid leaving the following stones exposed to the sun and heat in order to maintain their color and properties: quartz, fluorite, amethyst, aquamarine, turquoise, kunzite, lapis lazuli, malachite, tourmaline, among others;

Stones with a metallic composition must not come into contact with water and salt, in order to avoid oxidation. Other stones are soluble in water and others can crumble when in contact with water, so do not leave them in contact with water: pyrite, fuchsite, howlite, lapis lazuli, malachite, calcite, selenite, gypsum, dolomite, sulfur, kyanite , hematite, magnetite, galena, bornite, cassiterite, obsidian, rhodochrosite, desert rose, sugilite, tourmaline, among others;

PYRITE HANDLE

Our handles have a hole, so to fix them on your furniture, we recommend that they be fixed using the screw that comes with them. Depending on the thickness of your furniture, some adjustment to the screw size may be necessary for correct fixing.

To install the handle, you will need a Philips or screwdriver, which is not included with the product. For correct maintenance, retighten the screws whenever necessary.

The handles can be attached to furniture made of steel, aluminum, glass, wood or other materials. They were developed to assist in opening and closing furniture. Use only for these purposes, without using excessive force.

Do not allow them to use the handle to hang objects, as well as to use it as a support for climbing on furniture, hanging and propping up. These actions can damage your parts and cause several accidents.

They are suitable for continuous use and cleaning should be done periodically with a clean, dry flannel or a soft bristle brush without rubbing too much. Do not use water or chemicals.

When in doubt, always seek informed information from a professional you trust.
