The name sodalite refers to the sodium that is present in its composition. By some it is considered the stone of intuition and spiritual protection.
It is generally translucent, blue in color with white traces of calcite and a greasy, vitreous shine. It is rarely found in crystals, but in masses that can weigh several kilos. It is widely used in decoration, art objects and accessories.
It should not be exposed to the sun or intense heat. Do not keep in contact with water.
